collage artist, melbourne
Collages are like stories told in layers.
Just as people have many facets, many layers to who they are, so too do my collages. Each layer is distinct, each piece unique, and yet they all come together to tell a singular story.
It's a bit like piecing together a jigsaw puzzle, where every piece has its place, its purpose. And just like life, it takes time to complete each layer, to ensure every piece fits just right.
I often use the patterns I've created with alcohol inks in my collages. The textures and designs they form are perfect for this. They bring a depth and a realism to the foliage in my pieces. And as I build these collages, layer by layer, I'm reminded of the complexities and beauties of life.
Each layer, different from the next, yet all coming together to form a cohesive whole. It's a reflection of our journeys, our stories, and the many layers that make us who we are.
The process is intricate. I layer pieces of yupo paper and sustainable canvas. The pieces all individually hand cut to create these unique collages.
Every time you look at a piece, you might just spot something new, something that might even whisk you back to a cherished memory.

December — Narcissus & Holly
The delicate, star-shaped narcissus sits poised, its crisp white petals framing a soft pale centre. Beside it, the holly’s glossy green leaves and clusters of bright red berries create a striking contrast. Symbolising hope and renewal, the narcissus complements the holly’s representation of protection and goodwill.
This combination is particularly fitting for December babies, who are said to be seen for their generosity, honesty and quiet resilience.
The original artwork has been professionally reproduced as a fine art print. These prints are made on high-quality Hahnemühle paper using archival pigment inks, so the colour and detail stay true to the original artwork.
