The poppy, its vivid deep red petals loosely gathered around a dark papery centre, sits open. Beside it, the gladiolus in soft pink and white features ruffled blooms layered upward along its stem. The poppy symbolises remembrance, sacrifice and rest while the gladiolus represents strength of character and integrity.
These are fitting symbols for August babies, who are said to be seen for their compassion, courage and determination.
This piece is crafted layer by layer, combining hand-inked Yupo paper and sustainable canvas. Each piece is individually hand-cut.
